“I Know Why the Imprisoned Parrot Squawks”, “Stalemate” and “Shelter Skelter” open in Ohio



I Know Why the Imprisoned Parrot Squawks, Stalemate and Shelter Skelter are being presented at the Columbus Arts Festival in Columbus, Ohio on June 14. In I Know Why the Imprisoned Parrot Squawks, a parrot owner considers freeing the bird after reading Maya Angelou’s I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings. This short play has a cast of two gender-neutral roles. In Stalemate, a stale donut and a cinnamon roll plot how to make it out of their stand before it is too late. Stalemate has two roles for either gender. In Shelter Skelter, a visit from the enraged ghost of her old cat makes a woman question whether she wants to get a new kitten from the animal shelter.
