“A Thousand Variations on a Lie Told Once” and “Can’t Count on Dracula” receive staged readings in Illinois

On October 19 and 20, Prairie Players Civic Theatre in Galesburg, Illinois presents A Thousand Variations on a Lie Told Once and Can’t Count on Dracula as part of their “1st Look Play Festival.” In A Thousand Variations on a Lie Told Once, a full-length dark comedy for a cast of four women and one man, a Christmas Eve family gathering is upended when the adult daughters insist on finally receiving the letters that their father promised to leave them before he passed. In Can’t Count on Dracula, a comedy for all ages with a flexible cast of four to eleven, the Invisible Man calls an emergency meeting with Dracula and Frankenstein while the bumbling Sand Witch tries to learn to be scary.
