On
January 1, The Goose that Laid the Golden Egg is being performed in
Leucadia, California at the Rebecca Newell Theater. In this forty-five-minute stage
adaptation of Aesop’s fable, poor chicken farmers believe their fortune has
finally changed when they take a magical goose from a weary, wet traveler seeking
shelter from the storm. While one farmer wishes only for his own pair of shoes,
the other farmer goes on a wild spending spree, neglecting her chickens and her
husband. Opinionated talking chickens, a shy goose, sly merchants, and a golden
fairy add to the fun in this comedic take on the classic cautionary tale of greed.
The Goose that Laid the Golden Egg is published by Pioneer Drama Service.
