<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: 12pt; text-align: justify;">Pioneer
Drama Service has published <i>Insomniac Society</i>. In this youth one-act, nightmare-prone
Poppy has a solution to the soul-crushing loneliness that teenage insomniacs
face when they are confined to their bedrooms for nights that seem like they
will never end. She has created the Insomniac Society, a group chat where the sleepless can share their frustrations until their alarms go
off. Members-to-be must pass Poppy’s
test to prove that they are who they claim and must adhere to her strict
internet safety rules. When Poppy finds herself completely alone one bleak
restless night, the solitude is too much for her. She lets a suspicious
character join. The new recruit turns out to be Poppy’s younger sibling who is
intent on telling Mom and shutting down her site. With a cast of entirely
teenage characters, this fifty-minute dark comedy is well-suited for Thespian
One-Act Play Competition, high school production and teen theatre camp. To find
out more, preview the script for free, purchase the play in hardcopy or

has just released Stacey Lane’s <i>Insomniac Cybersociety</i>, a 40-minute virtual
youth play specifically designed to be performed on Zoom, Teams, or other online
video platforms. This dark comedy has an entirely gender-neutral cast of teenagers and simple prop and costume requirements. It is perfect for online summer camps and remote high school productions this
fall. Looking for a way to cope with sleepless nights, Poppy creates the
Insomniac Cybersociety as a safe online place for awake but tired teens
confined to their bedrooms to pass the long night hours of sleeplessness. It's
almost like going to a slumber party every night with virtual friends.</span> <span style="color: #1d2228; font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">Poppy strictly enforces the rules to the

In this large cast, full-length play for young audiences, </span><span style="background: white; color: #202020; font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt;">spunky little Ruth dreams of being a Knight of the Round Table. But King Arthur,
Guinevere, Lancelot and her other heroes laugh at her when she demonstrates her
valor in a battle with a melodramatic lizard pretending to be a dragon.
Humiliated, Ruth sets off to form her own queendom that is bigger and better
than Camelot, bringing with her the lizard and a mule that she claims is a
unicorn. Soon they are joined by a frog, who Ruth declares to be an ogre; a
skunk, who she pronounces a wizard (because the skunk makes everyone
disappear); and two kids, who she dubs her bravest knights. On their quest,
they meet the enchanting Lady of the Lake, a bumbling Merlin, riddle-loving
trolls, a vain unicorn and the evil sorcerers Morgana le Fay and Mordred, who
have their own plan to outdo King Arthur. For more information, to purchase the

short play with a flexible, entirely gender-neutral cast, </span><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 140%;">a
bat-wielding terror of a hare looms large in the lives of a community of
frightened field mice. After receiving non-stop bops from the infamous and
inaccurately named Little Bunny Foo Foo, the mice seek help from a slick city
mouse. The mouse, accurately named Big Cheese, arrives with tall tales of past
bravery. Big Cheese is insulted to use its epic heroic skills on a cutesy-wootsie
little bunny… that is until it meets the real deal. After suffering blows to its
ego and its noggin, Big Cheese flees the scene, leaving the mice to solve their
own problem. By pretending to be a powerful fairy, the littlest mouse outsmarts
the big, bad bunny. To buy a copy of this newly-published script, preview a substantial

January 1, <i>The Goose that Laid the Golden Egg </i>is being performed in
Leucadia, California at the Rebecca Newell Theater. In this forty-five-minute stage
adaptation of Aesop’s fable, poor chicken farmers believe their fortune has
finally changed when they take a magical goose from a weary, wet traveler seeking
shelter from the storm. While one farmer wishes only for his own pair of shoes,
the other farmer goes on a wild spending spree, neglecting her chickens and her
husband. Opinionated talking chickens, a shy goose, sly merchants, and a golden
fairy add to the fun in this comedic take on the classic cautionary tale of greed.
